The Company; The company is an experiences enterprise with offices in South Africa and Zimbabwe, and expanding tentacles into Namibia and Australia led by a very young, diverse and robust management team driving business (business travel, conferences, events) and leisure travel (experiences, tours and safaris) into Africa (inbound and intra-Africa) as well as from Africa to the world (outbound). Definition Of  Position; This is a strategic management position (largely operating out of the office/in the market) requiring an unmatched strategic sales and key account management drive that’s strongly balanced with an understanding of integrated marketing to ensure optimal conceptualization and promotion of products and services, pricing and distribution to drive exponential revenues and returns. Building a competitive edge in the company will involve innovation, strategic mapping of, and understanding of local and foreign competition, while developing productive strategic alliances in the demand and supply markets of the business. The role involves local, regional and international travel. The development of markets in the local, Africa and overseas regions managed through a live centralized database is primary. The strategic and technical approach to selling of products/services, management of inquiries and conversion and enabling customer success in their experiences thereof, working with reservations teams in different countries is core. The incumbent is expected to set up a robust Sales and Marketing Division that will successfully drive commerce in the company. The position is marked “Designate” for probation purposes. Upon completing a successful 3months probation, the incumbent will be appointed to a substantive Sales and Marketing Manager Role.

Title: Sales & Marketing Manager Designate

Purpose Statement: To effectively sell and promote the company’s products and services while growing existing markets and developing new markets, products and services in the local, regional and overseas markets.


Reports to: The General Manager (Direct)

Principal Accountabilities

  1. Ensure achievement of the Group Sales and Marketing Targets through initiating,  activating, implementing, monitoring and directing strategic sales and marketing initiatives.
  2. Familiarize and understand the company’s strategy and develop a robust Group Sales and Marketing Plan and budget to ensure that they are in line with corporate objectives
  3. Initiate and implement Corporate Contracts with customers and suppliers to generate volumes and revenues into  the business.
  4. Management and maintenance of strategic  relationships at all influential levels in key accounts, involving senior management at high levels in Corporates, NGOs, Gvt Departments, Travel Agents and Tour Operators, Professional Conference and event Organisers, Airlines, individuals, special interest groups etc at local, regional and international level.
  5. A smart executive who is diligent, selling daily and driving target and results-oriented sales and marketing initiatives and providing regular strategic and analytical reports and statistics required for decision making by management and executives.
  6. Executing and implementing the business’s Customer Relationship Management and loyalty programmes.
  7. Database/Account development, segmentation and driving business  productivity growth initiatives.
  8. Production of  relevant reports required for  performance monitoring and decision making by sales team and senior management.
  9. Liaising with advertising, creative and media houses, and working with social media and digital platforms in all markets to ensure that Sales & Marketing Communications are of  high quality standards and that they are effective.
  10. Participate in the production of Executive and Board Reports as well as attending Board meetings by invitation.
  11. Tapping and growing business through digital channels and platforms.

Other Key and Important Requirements

  1. Incumbent should have high level of responsibility, accountability and maturity and is expected to have a criminal free record, must be honest with high levels of integrity, and like other team members, should be able to work with time zones without “ watching the cloak as and when required by the situation.”
  2. A willing life-long leaner, self-driven who is able to work without supervision and should have ruthless resilience and a balanced emotional disposition required in a high intensity and results oriented team environment. Strategic customer insights and negotiating skills a must.
  3. A Class 4 driver’s license and a valid passport are a must.

  5. Willing to travel the world
  6. Own car to be fuelled and serviced by the company as the company plans to procure a suitable vehicle for Sales and Marketing before end of Quarter 4 in 2024. (Depending on revenue performance, the vehicle can be procured much earlier).
  7. Competitive computer skills
  8. Incumbent should seeking career and professional growth with no political activist inclinations

Knowledge, Competencies & Experience

  1. Ideally, not less than 3 years’ experience in a similar position.
  2. Holder of a Bachelor’s business Degree. A Post Grad qualification or working towards one is an added advantage.
  3. Age limit of +/-30 years and below only
  4. Knowledge of the tourism value chain key.
  5. Articulate with keen knowledge of current affairs required in high level engagements
  6. Knowledge of or keenness to learn on E-Commerce Drive
