Head of Customer and Commercial

A leading company in the FMCG sector is seeking to fill the below vacancy that has arisen within its organisation. This is a senior position and senior people with relevant FMCG experience are encouraged to apply.

Overall Purpose

The role of Head of Customer and Commercial is to lead and manage nationally the Sales ,Distribution, Warehouse , Cold Drink Equipment and Marketing functions to drive and deliver (achieve & grow) set/agreed regional business profitability, revenue, volume, customer service and efficiencies.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Achievement and growth of Northern and Southern Regions OI
  • Achievement and growth of volume, gross/net revenue and cash contribution.
  • Improve working capital productivity
  • Managing stakeholder relations, key customers
  • Implementing CSS+RTM strategy for the region in line with SZL business and objectives. Grow market share for the business
  • Improving market execution efficiencies and engagements through entrenching Efficiency – green, RED – Execution, Engagement – gold
  • Improving and advancing customer relations capabilities through implementation of collaboration for value (CFV) and joint business plans (JBPs) on key accounts (National & Regional).
  • To implement OBPPC & RGM product/pack innovation/commercialization to strengthen portfolio, price/pack strategy
  • Improving productivities in the assigned region/territory through optimising available fleet’s distribution efficiencies that improves cost –to –serve.

Academic Qualification/Training Required For The Position

  • First Commercial Degree with bias to Sales /Marketing
  • Post graduate /professional qualification/MBA an added advantage.
  • 6 years Sales & Marketing experience in FMCG industry of which at least 2 should be in Management

  • Internal system requirements
  • Regular updates/seminars/workshops on Commercial issues
  • Occupational Health and Safety

Potential Hazards at Work

  • Driving under adverse conditions (bad weather and dilapidated road networks).
  • Potential injuries during market visits.
