From ever changing and emerging technologies to more demanding customer tastes and preferences , every marketer should be abreast with both in order to give memorable customer experience,

Against that background, Marketers Association of Zimbabwe continues to champion professional and career development for marketers and related professionals through the Annual Continuous Professional Development Master Class (Winter School).

There is continuous refinement and additions to the Master Classes every year as MAZ strives to keep its members in the marketing, sales, digital, customer service, public relations, branding industry up to date with the latest trends and development in their respective fields.

This year, MAZ is introducing the Customer Experience Master Class whose target audience are customer service personnel, contact centre staff, front office staff or customer experience managers contact centre managers and public relations executives.

The Annual Continuous Professional Development Master Class 2023 (Winter School) will be held at the Troutbeck Resort in Nyanga from 04 – 07 July 2023.

The Master class will target Marketing, Sales, Digital, PR and Customer Experience Practitioners.

Classes will be conducted by local and international professionals with vast experience in each of the professions listed.

The three day Winter School will see participants attending four
classes running concurrently.

Class A is for the Marketing Practitioner Status.
The target audience for this class is qualified marketing personnel, Public Relations Executives, Customer service personnel and Digital Marketers.

Among the topics to be covered in this class are;

Class B -the Sales Practitioner Status whose target audience is sales personnel, Business development, Sales managers and key account executives. The Sales person has not been spared the demands of a changing landscape.

Topics to be covered include;

Class C -newly introduced Customer Experience Practitioner Status whose target audience is customer service personnel, contact centre staff, front office staff or customer experience managers and contact centre managers, public relations executives.

Class D- Continuous Professional Development Master Class

This class is targeted at among others senior managers, marketing managers, Digital Managers, existing marketing practitioners, public relations personnel, customer service personnel, product development and research personnel, among others.

MAZ therefore invites corporates and individuals to attend the Master Class of their choice where they will be accorded a Practitioner Status. These Statuses will be awarded to candidates who will have undergone a 3 day training in the respective field, and met the requirements of a Strategy Case Study Assignment.

To qualify for this status, a candidate should have a marketing, sales, CX, PR or any other related qualification from a recognized institution and practising in the same field.

Regional and local speakers with practical experiences always make up the MAZ ACPD Master Class Line up.

Among the key speakers are; Matongo Matamwandi , Carol White, Carol Tagwirei ,Agrippa Mugwagwa , Izithembisozenkosi Ndlovu, Elliot Shonhiwa , Joel Gombera , Michael Beavan, Gilbert Tsongorera, Patricia Mutyavaviri and Caroline Tagwirei among others.

Matongo is an award-winning Marketer, having won both the Marketing Personality of the year and the President’s Marketing award and served as a Brand Ambassador for Africa Continental Free Trade Area (ACFTA). He is Chartered Marketer, Economic development Expert, Entrepreneur, Business Strategist and An Academician with specialisation in Branding and Consumer Psychology.

Michael Beavan is a Marketing and Management Science Programme coordinator. Lecturer Business Management at IMM GSM SA.

Izithembisozenkosi Ndlovu is a lecturer in the Department of Marketing at the National University of Science & Technology with more than 10 years’ experience in academia. Despite having taught multiple marketing related courses such as Marketing Research, Professional Selling, Sales & Key Account Management and Digital Marketing, my area of specialisation lies in Digital Marketing.

Carol White is a Team Transformation strategist – freelance consultant – writing – sales and marketing – Customer Experience mapping expert.

Caroline Tagwirei is the Director and Senior Consultant of Ampelos International Consultancy Pvt Ltd. She is an international expert with 23 years of multidisciplinary experience in conducting research & development, training, and consultancy services in sustainable environmental management. Caroline is a Board member of the Marketers Association of Zimbabwe and sits in the ESG, Ethics and Legal Committee. She is the Chairperson of the Climate and Air Emissions Technical Committee of the Business Council for Sustainable Development Zimbabwe. She is also a member of the International Association for Impact Assessment and the Environmental Professional Council of Zimbabwe

Elliot Shonhiwa is the Group Operations Manager with the Tsapo Group of Companies, with a role to oversee the performance of 14 SBU’s. A self-driven & results oriented business leader and a Business Development Expert & renowned team builder. Tsapo is a regional player with an extensive footprint in the SADC region.

Agrippa Mugwagwa is the Managing Director of Xarani, the fintech arm of FBC Holdings responsible for transformation and orchestrating new digital ecosystems, models and products through emerging technologies. Agrippa is a Chartered Marketer (CIM-UK) as well member of the Institute of Bankers (Zimbabwe), holds various diplomas, a business degree and a Master of Business Leadership degree with the University of South Africa.

Joel Gombera is a Marketer, Community Developer and Communicator with over 20 years’ experience having started his career with the then Zimbank (now ZB bank-1996-2001), then proceeded to work for Intermarket before joining CBZ Holdings from 2008 to 2021 as the Senior Manager-Group Marketing. He then moved to Doves Holdings Zimbabwe where he is currently the General Manager Marketing.

Patricia Mutyavaviri is a client experience innovator and enthusiast through driving of a client centric culture and innovations in businesses. Specialising in creation of “Delivering the Pot of Gold”.

Patricia has 22 years’ experience and has gathered a wealth of experience from a broad spectrum of banking divisions which include Retail Banking, Corporate Banking, Card Service, Diaspora Banking and Mobile Money. She has facilitated successful opening of strategic units.
