The Marketers Association of Zimbabwe (MAZ) recently held a joint graduation ceremony on the 9th of February 2024 for two intakes of the Professional Certificate in Digital Marketing program at Holiday inn hotel Harare.
The ceremony was a momentous occasion where students from the 2023 intakes were awarded their certificates after successfully completing the rigorous digital marketing training.
The ceremony commenced with Mr. Gillian Rusike extending words of welcome and encouragement to the Graduands.
“I would like welcome you to this prestigious event as well congratulate each and every one of you here who is graduating, you did a great job in taking up these courses, and I’m encouraging you all to keep on upgrading join a certain association and expand your network, and just know that everyone out there selling airtime or newspapers in the streets has a degree or diploma but you need to keep upgrading as the world is evolving’ he said
Mr. Liberty Kazhanje, the Vice President for MAZ, graced the event as the guest speaker. During his speech, he highlighted the achievements of the students from both intakes.
“The August 2023 intake initially had 38 students, out of which 34 are graduating, while 4 students dropped out for various reasons. On the other hand, the September 2023 intake started with 65 students, including 8 students from Zambia. Despite facing challenges that led to 10 students dropping out, 55 students successfully completed the program and received their certificates during the ceremony”. He said
Mr. Kazhanje expressed his gratitude towards MAZ Corporate and Individual Members for their unwavering support towards all training activities and events organized by MAZ. “I really commend you for the dedication and hard work throughout your studies, acknowledging their trust in MAZBI (Marketers Association of Zimbabwe Business Institute).” Said Mr. Kazhanje
The certificates were handed out by the guest speaker Mr. Kazhanje along with Mr. Rusike the Executive secretary of MAZ for all the classes, following a presentation from Mr. Felix Mambondiani the Head of MAZBI about the training department and the faces behind the programs as well introducing other programs and courses that follow.
Students shared their testimonials on how their learning experience and how happy they are to have graduated with MAZBI after 3 months of assignments and practicals.
“The on boarding process was very smooth as well as the learning experience that was very interactive I think my classmates support me on that, the classes were interactive between the students and also with our lecturers, feedback was constant and consistent as is required from the customer experience professionals.” said Zandile Chiremba who was the best student in Professional Certificate in Customer Experience Management.
She went on to appreciate their facilitators who were always there every step of the way and was always understanding.
Nelia Muchokwinjo who was the best female student in the Professional digital marketing was very excited with the experience that she had and as well as the information she acquired from this course. She also took time to appreciate every one who helped in making this day a success for her and fellow mates.
“Our journey has not been without challenges, one of the primary challenges we faces was the share volume of information available the digital marketing industry is constantly evolving with new trend and technologies emerging at a rapid pace. Staying updated with the latest development s requires continuous learning and adaptation. We thank our employees, our spouses, our families for enabling us to participate in this digital marketing course with the greatest team of all both physical class and online we became one because we are fighting the new AI” said Nelia
The event saw a beautiful ending with the head marketing and operations at MAZ Mrs. Enia Zimunya sharing a few words.
“Gloria Davidson once said “Struggling to decide what to do after graduation is and always will be, a sort of rite of passage to the next phase of your life”
To our esteemed graduates, I extend my heartfelt congratulations on reaching this significant milestone in your academic and professional journey. Your dedication, perseverance, and hard work have culminated in this moment of triumph, and I have no doubt that you will continue to excel as you navigate the exciting path ahead.”
She concluded by congratulating again the Graduands and wishing them the best.
“Once again, congratulations to our graduates! May you continue to soar to new heights and make a positive impact in the world and like Catherine Pulsifer said “graduation, a conclusion of one chapter, a beginning of another” let us carry the spirit of celebration, unity, and achievement with us.” Said Mrs. Zimunya
The ceremony ended on a high note, celebrating unity, achievement, and the bright future ahead for the graduates.
