The Marketers Association of Zimbabwe Business Institute (MAZBI) hosted a grand graduation ceremony, marking a significant milestone in the lives of many aspiring marketers.

The graduation ceremony was held at Monomotapa hotel on 06 October 2023.

The event was a joint graduation ceremony for 10 intakes composed of students from the Public Relations Diploma, Professional Certificate in Digital Marketing, Marketing Practitioners, Sales Practitioners, Customer Experience Practitioners, Professional Certificate in Customer Experience Management and Professional Certificate in Event Planning programs.

Ms. Lilian Mbayiwa the president of MAZ congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to keep learning.

“We are really excited that we have quite a number of students who pulled through these programs from the start to the end not only from Zimbabwe but beyond the borders.” she said

She went on to advise students pursuing the Zimchartered Marketer program.

“I also want to take this opportunity to advise you that we have quite a number of courses that we run, in addition to the ones that you are graduating in. One important program every marketer need to take up is the Zimchartered Marketer, which is a prestigious program for Marketing Professionals with at least a degree qualification.” Said Ms. Mbayiwa

The Guest speaker was Professor Machingura, who is the director for Centre of Post Graduate Studies at University of Zimbabwe 

“Today marks yet another milestone for MAZ Business Institute since its official unveiling by its patron Honourable Minister Monica Mutsvangwa in March 2023.” He said

Professor Machingura went on to explain the programs that people were graduating from and their intakes.

“Today we have our colleagues who are being accorded the Marketing Practitioner, Sales Practitioner and Customer Experience Practitioner Statuses. The three programmes which began during the Annual Continuous Development program (ACPD) held in Nyanga in July 2023, accords the participants’ prestigious status, recognized by industry to authenticate one’s skills in marketing, sales and customer experience. The participants went through strategy formulation training to enhance their marketing, sales and customer experience proficiency. At the end of the training, participants are expected to implement these strategies in their respective industries. Today we have 9 marketing, 5 sales and 5 customer experience practitioners who will receive recognition through certificates and practitioner badges which will identify them with their respective statuses.  I want to applaud them for a job well done,” said Professor Machingura.

The Professional Certificate in Digital Marketing program had the following intakes; a January class which started with 91 students of which 30 were from Malawi. A total of 72 students successfully completed the course and some of them are here whilst the Malawi based students had their separate graduation in their country. The March 1st Intake class initially had 34 students including 3 from Malawi and those that made the grade are 33. The March 2nd intake class had an enrolment of 19 and 16 made it through the course. Lastly the June class had 50 students and 39 made it through the course. In total PCDM enrolment for the graduating classes was 194 students from which 28 either deferred or dropped out due to various reasons.

The digital marketing training is designed for individuals ready to expand their skills-set in today’s digital driven market. It explores the several aspects of the new digital marketing environment and integrate them to current business operations, in line with global trends of marketing transformation.

“I am excited to announce that since the first intake of 2016, MAZ has trained and channelled over 3000 Digital Marketing graduates into the local industry and beyond.”
