The Marketers Association of Zimbabwe, (MAZ) will be hosting the third edition of the MAZ Charity Golf, to be held on Friday the 2nd of August 2019, at the ZRP Golf Club. This year`s fundraising objective is to buy 10 000 hats, in the Donate-a Hat- Campaign, targeted at children affected by albinism throughout Zimbabwe. This is a continuation of our “Donate a Shoe Campaign”, which we launched in 2017, whereby we donated over 300 pairs of shoes to Chokera Primary School in Gutu. The importance of golf cannot be downplayed to any profession, especially to marketers. Hence the key driver behind this Golf Day is to encourage marketers to be more involved in golf, as well as, take advantage of networking opportunities with key decision and policy makers. This year individuals are being called to participate in teams of 4 at a cost of $600.
In terms of partnership, the sponsorship packages include Title sponsor, Anchor sponsor, Key sponsor, Prize sponsor as well as, Hole sponsor. To participate or sponsor, contact firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com. This year we decided to shift from our ‘donate a shoe campaign to focus on children who are affected by albinism. Albinism is an inherited genetic condition that reduces the amount of melanin pigment formed in the skin, hair or eyes. People with albinism have vision problems that are not correctable with eye glasses, and many have low vision. It’s the abnormal development of the retina and abnormal patterns of nerve connections between the eye and the brain that cause vision problems. This therefore requires them to put on hats or sunglasses always when they are outdoors to protect their eye-sight from sunrays hence our ‘Donate A Hat Campaign’.
It is estimated that there are about 30 000 people living with albinism among 15 million Zimbabweans.
